The best use of energy sources is achieved in Agro Industrial Paramonga S.A.A. by the cogeneration process, where the heat extracted from the cane bagasse is used efficiently to produce thermal energy in the form of steam and electrical energy, necessary in its sugar and alcohol processing processes.
In this context, our company occupies a leading position in the generation of electricity from biomass being the first sugar producer in the country, which injects clean electricity using RER (Renewable Energy Resources) technology which allows to contribute in the reliability of the National Electricity System, effectively contributing to the protection of the environment by the replacement of traditional energies that cause greenhouse gas emissions. Generating non-polluting energy benefits us from the uptake of carbon bonds in the international market.
The company has installed in Paramonga a thermal plant with power of 23 Megawatts and delivers to the country 115,000 Megawatt-hours of energy each year, enough to supply electricity, for example to a city of half a million inhabitants.
