Factory process

  • Preparation and milling of cane

The cane coming from the field is transported to the factory to be weighed on an electronic scale and unloaded to the receiving table by the action of a wire crane. Then it is conducted to the defibrator. The prepared cane mattress enters the mills (trapiche) for extracting the juice and receiving it in tanks. The separated bagasse is conducted to the boilers.

  • Clarification of juice

The whitewash is added to the juice from the trapiche and heated as part of the clarification. In this phase the precipitation of tricalcium phosphate occurs, for which flocculant is added to obtain a clean juice that overflows from the top, and goes to a storage tank.

  • Evaporation

The clarified juice enters the evaporators of multiple effect to eliminate water and concentrate the juice in order to obtain a raw syrup, which is then clarified. The same that is evacuated to the vacuum pan.

  • Cooking

The sucrose contained in the syrup is crystallized in vacuum pans which results in a cooked mass consisting of honey and crystals of sucrose (sugar).

  • Centrifugation and drying

The dough is purged in the centrifuges that are a kind of baskets equipped with uniform holes that when turning at great speeds, separate the grains of the honey, sending them to the dryers before being packed. The recovered honey returns to the vacuum pans for reprocessing.

  • Packing

The grains are dried by hot air flow, separating the uniform grains and deposited in containers for their respective packing. The sugar sacks are transferred to the finished products warehouse for later commercialization.

  • Ecological aquatubular boiler

The ecological aquatubular boiler, began to build at june 2005, and it is our biggest project. It is equipped with modern technology to produce clean energy from renewable resource as bagasse instead of oil. Its launching confirms our commitment about enviroment care  and community quality of live.

  • Energy cogeneration, Turbogenerator

The cogeneration process, where the heat extracted from sugarcane bagasse is efficiently used to produce thermal energy in the form of steam and electrical energy, necessary in its sugar and alcohol production processes. The company has installed a thermal plant with power of 23 Megawatts and delivers 115,000 Megawatt-hours of energy to the country each year.
