In order to align our operation to environmentally friendly practices and thus mitigate CO2 emissions. In 2007, the CBS cauldron was put into operation with an investment of 23 million suns and a production capacity of 120 tons of steam per hour. In this way we started using bagasse, renewable fuel from biomass and stopped consuming oil, non-renewable fossil fuel. It should be noted that, in order to monitor the adequate emission quality of the CBS cauldron, monthly maintenance of its operation is carried out.
The positive impact of this fuel change is a consumption of 360,000 tons of bagasse in the CBS cauldron and has allowed us to replace 130,000 tons of oil per year.
